The Ordinary Road

“The Ordinary Road”, the theme song of Han Han’s new film, has been hot lately. Ten years on, Pu Shu releases a new song—it’s filled with gentle warmth and melancholy. You can tell Pu Shu has found his direction. Though everything is so calm, the shares are exploding. After watching the MV, I downloaded the lossless version and played it on repeat all night.

Suddenly realized I’ve slowly grown numb these past years. When I have free time, I always find a spot to zone out or stare at passers-by. After staying alone too long, I sling on my camera, pick a place, and start roaming and wandering, like a fool always hoping to find a reason along the way.

I keep telling myself to hang on a little longer—the first goal is almost done, then the second, the third, and so on. But gradually I lack the strength to prepare and plan things out in such detail. Life is just like this.

That day the boss said they counted as among the strongest in our class, and said we should let go of the past. Hearing that, couldn’t I stop myself? I overestimated some people’s weight in my heart. Thinking about it, what the boss meant was simply those over-glorified times. Beautiful memories should be recorded, but they aren’t eternal. Do you still remember that carefree youth of always grinning like a fool? But what saddens me most is that she never noticed—I gambled once, and it only brought disappointment.

“Gone without a trace”—too many places passed, too many people met, too many stories heard; this phrase is truly depressing.

The loop won’t stop—an old broken laptop with the music crackling. Once I’m back in Beijing, my AKG 240s will be a real pleasure. What the wind has blown past is like smoke and clouds. Is your story still going on?
